In 2022, the anniversary version of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP will be produced with special graphics. But that's not all: the engine's intake ports have been redesigned for higher mixing speeds and improved midrange power. A new gas return spring improves gas linearity. We've fine-tuned the HSTC calibration using data from World Superbike racers to make it even more seamless, and made the Quick Shift his mechanism even faster for less engine RPM variation. Finally, the front brake features a new piston material and surface treatment for better on-power braking. Overall, the most impressive sportbike in the lineup is even better this year. The Fireblade SP's bore and stroke (81mm x 48.5mm) are the same as the Honda MotoGP champion RC213V race bike, utilizing experience with cylinder filling and burning collected on the track.
Rocker arm with finger guide
CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP adopts a finger follower rocker arm. This design reduces the inertial weight of the valve system by approximately 75% compared to the shim and bucket system, contributing to the Fireblade SP's higher redlining. DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating reduces the frictional resistance of the sliding surface with the cam and tappet plate.

The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP uses electronically controlled Öhlins NPX forks. By adding a compression damping system to the Ohlins fork used in the previous CBR1000RR SP, cavitation in the damper is minimized, damping force is stabilized, and shock absorption is improved.
